Our Journey

Seymour Civil Engineering (Contractors) Limited, founded in 1978, has progressively developed from specialising in the water sector and expanding our expertise into other markets including industrial and energy, highways and infrastructure, public realm, environmental and coastal and marine. We have widened our operational area from our Hartlepool base to becoming a specialist Civil Engineering Contractor operating throughout the North East and Yorkshire.

In 2007, we were acquired by Renew Holdings PLC, and joined the brilliant independently branded subsidiary businesses supported by the strength of the Renew Holdings Group, drawing on best practice from a number of high risk and regulated markets.

As a people business, we heavily invest in providing the right training and equipment and are proud of our self-delivery model.

We believe that our attention to detail and delivering beyond construction has made our operations extremely competitive and resulted in Seymour being a primary contractor for a number of frameworks such as Yorkshire Water Framework, NEPO Civil Engineering Framework, North Yorkshire County Council’s Civil Engineering Framework, Durham County Councils Countryside Services Framework and The Coal Authority Minewater Treatment Framework.

The ethos of working hard to get it right first time, give customers satisfaction and a quality service has resulted in Seymour winning a plethora of awards surrounding individual projects and our company culture.

Our ethos is to develop long term collaborative relationships with our clients in an open and transparent manner that will see us continue to deliver projects on time and budget ensuring that we meet our clients’ needs and aspirations whilst seeking every opportunity to go the extra mile.

Seymour celebrate and champion our self-delivery model which means not only can we take great pride in ensuring a robust approach to health and safety and our quality of workmanship, but it also means we live our values as a people business - investing heavily in our people and our plant. I am extremely proud of our efforts to Deliver Beyond Construction as we continue to strive to operate responsibly and give back to the communities in which we work whilst delivering innovative solutions adding value to our clients.
